Vijay also adopted a boy Pandiarajan the school topper of corporation school in Virugambakkam and will be his local guardian and sponsor for his higher education. Vijay also donated computers to poor students.

Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay celebrated his 35th birthday on June 22nd by opening free computer training schools and Blood donation camps. Vijay went high tech on his birthday by opening two computer training schools in Chennai one at saligramam and the other at Rangarajapuram, where students will be provided with free computer education. Vijay ‘s PRO had issued a press release stating that “this is a part of his social welfare measures like blood donation camps, medical camps, and free distribution of notebooks”.
