Vijay has confirmed that Vettaikkaaran will be released for Diwali 2009. Vettaikkaaran directed by Babu Shivam features Vijay and Anushka in lead roles.
Vijay said “Come hell or high water Vettaikaran is 100 percent confirmed to release on October 17, Diwali day.†Earlier there were reports that Vettaikaran has backed out of Diwali, since Udayanidhi Stalin confirmed that his Surya starrer Aadhavan will release on Diwali day. But now Vijay itself has confirmed that the movie will be release for this Diwali.

Vijay’s Vettaikkaaran shooting is currently going on in Pollachi. It is a 10 day shoot in which some village scenes and a Kuthu song will be shot on the lead pair Vijay and Anushka. Vijay Antony the king of Kuthu song has done the music and it is said the song is rocking and Vijay’s fan will love it.
On the shooting spot huge crowds are gathering to catch a glimpse of Vijay. Sources say that crowsd from Kerala and Coimbatore areas are also coming to the location to see Vijay. Read the rest of this entry »

Vettaikaran is Vijay’s 49th film and it is being directed by Babu Shivan, an assistant director of Dharani. The film is produced by M. Balasubramanian and B. Gurunath Meiyappan and will be distributed by AVM Productions. The film will star Vijay and Anushka Shetty in the lead roles. The film’s background score and soundtrack will be composed by Vijay Antony while Gopinath will be the film’s main cinematographer and V. T. Vijayan as the film’s editor.
