Vijay is Joy Alukkas’ Brand Ambassador !

Kollywood circles are murmuring silent rumors, if the change in Joy Alukkas Ambassadorship has to do with the film Pagalavan. Pagalavan, earlier titled Kobam, was thought about by Vijay. VIJAY’S TITLE CONFUSION

The title of Vijay’s forthcoming film, which is the remake of the Malayalam film Bodyguard, has not been finalized yet. The film was initially titled Kaavalkaran, but the producers of this yesteryear hit refused to part with the title, landing Vijay and team in confusion.

Then it was decided to rename the film Kaaval Kaadhal but Vijay was not too keen on it and was scouting for something suitable. The latest buzz in Kollywood is that Vijay may settle for the title Kaavalan. However, an official announcement is not yet out.

This film is directed by Siddique, who also wielded the megaphone for the original version.

Is Vijay keen on Dabangg remake?

Vijay’s new movie with Asin, directed by Siddhique, has undergone a change in its title for the third time. The movie is a remake of Malayalam super hit Bodyguard. Since Vijay has a penchant for MGR ’s evergreen films titles (the earlier one being Vettaikkaran), his 51st movie was titled Kaavalkaran initially. But since the original producers of the MGR movie, Sathya Movies, were unwilling to part with the name, Vijay had to resort to a new title Kaaval Kaadhal. But the reactions from Ilayathalapathy ’s fans have not been encouraging as they felt the name wasn’t appropriate. Finally, he has decided on Kaavalan, which sounds more apt for the theme and is the exact Tamil translation of Bodyguard.Yet another buzz about the movie is that director Shakthi Chidambaram has acquired the entire rights for the film including its overseas release. When most of the Tamil community is up-in-arms against the movie because of Asin and the overseas business itself being in threat, Shakthi Chidambaram ’s bold move has surprised many. In the meantime, the grapevine has it that the Sura star has also shown keen interest to acquire the remake rights of Bollywood hunk Salman Khan ’s yet-to-be-released Dabangg, which is again a self-styled policeman story.

Although Velayudham was started with much fanfare and the photo shoots are over, looks like Vijay has put it on the back burner for the time being. For at least one month, to be precise. He still has some unfinished business for Kaavalkaran turned Kaaval Kadhal turned Kaavalan, which is in its final stages of production. He is expected to finish up the patch works for Kaavalan by the end of this month and move on to Velayudham after that.
Kaavalan is the remake of the Siddique-directed Malayalam hit Bodyguard that had Dileep and Nayanthara. Directed by Siddique himself, the Tamil version of the comic caper has Vijay and Asin playing the lead roles.

The film should have actually been made in Tamil starring Vijay in the lead but had gone to Tollywood by sheer chance. After his ‘Kushi’ with Vijay, SJ Surya was reportedly planning to make ‘Puli’ in Tamil with Vijay in the lead. While the story discussions were going on, Simbu too joined Vijay and SJ Surya and this obviously infuriated Vijay who walked out of the project.

SJ Surya then dropped the project and decided to make the film in Telugu. When he approached Pavan Kallyan with the script, the latter agreed to it and SJ Surya immediately started work which has since been completed. The Tamil ‘Puli’ gave way to the Telugu ‘Komaram Puli’ and has reportedly generated lot of pre-release hype, expectation and excitement.

Kollywood producers and directors have already started getting the remake rights of the film in Tamil. It is said that even Vijay is quite intent in starring in the remake. Wouldn’t it have been better for him to star in the original Tamil version when SJ Surya approached him? Some Bollywood producers are also said to be interested in making the film in Hindi.
