Ilayathalapathy Vijay has already completed shooting for his next film ‘Kaval Kadhal’ and is now gearing up for the other project titled ‘Velayudham’. The film is produced by Aascar Ravichandran and is directed by ‘Jeyam’ Raja. The film is reported to be a remake of Telugu movie ‘Azad’ that had Nagarjuna, Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and Late actress Soundarya
The film’s shooting has been already done for 5 days at Palakkad and will have the other schedules soon after tomorrow’s Puja at University Hall in Chennai.
The story of Velayudham goes this way…
Genelia D’Souza is completely frustrated with the misdeeds of a criminal named Deva, who covers himself as a staunch follower of Bhagavath Geetha. But what the society doesn’t know about him is that he is real troublemaker of many problems in society. One day Genelia witnesses a group of baddies dying at a car accident. Apparently, Genelia D’ Souza develops a fictional character Velayudham and he is the cause for all the heroic acts of this assassinations. Sooner, the fame about Velayudham starts spreading like forest fires across towns and cities.
Cut to a village….
There is a humble and peace loving guy called Velayudham (Vijay), who is leading a happy life with his widowed mother, sister (Saranya Mohan) and cousin girl (Hansika Motwani). Once, he comes to Chennai to withdraw the savings amount of Rs.5Lakhs from a Chit Fund Company. At the same point of time, there are 5 bomb blasts occurring in the city out of which Velayudham escapes from every blast. Later, the news is spread that he is the real hero Velayudham assassinating the baddies.
Getting to know about it, Genelia D’ Souza reveals about her deeds of frightening the baddies with a fictional name. However, Velayudham isn’t interested in striving for this cause and plans to make his way back to Village soon after withdrawing the money meant for his sister’s marriage.
But then, the Chit Fund Company happens to be a bogus and many innocent victims who invested lots of money commit suicide. Finally, Velayudham turns to be a real hero, thereby carrying each and every work of the fictional character in reality.
But the biggest twist occurs in the tale when Velayudham gets to know that Deva is actually not a Muslim, but a Muslim terrorist planning to destroy entire India by causing clashes between the religions.
Now it’s up to Velayudham is revealing the true colors of Deva and saving the innocent people, who have laid their trust on Deva.

this is azad story… actually raja said he took a single storyline from azad and he made his own sript called velayutham… screenplay will be totally different from starting to end, not like his previous films..

This is in reference to the recent articles and columns advising VIJAY on how to choose movies, roles and the need of the hour i.e. different getups Sure,
I agree with people who say that they are getting fed up or they don’t absolutely like the kind of movies which Vijay has of late chosen such as Villu, Vettaikaran and Sura.
All the above mentioned movies have definitely failed to create an impact on the audiences and failed to bring the VIJAY magic on the screen, which he usually does rather easily and lacked certain factors which made these movies miss the box office success.
Being a die hard fan of Vijay, I would like to put forth my views to some of the so called niche cine followers who think that commercial cinema is as good as child’s play.
Presentation of the movie is the order of the day. Hence different getups and entirely new looking script don’t guarantee success to a movie and this can be agreed upon with movies like Anbe Sivam, Aayutha Ezhuthu which though had fantastic acting and a new way of presenting script / screenplay respectively didn’t do good business at box office.
Even the great Sivaji Ganesan who is the father of acting and getups had given a string of failure movies of more than 10 at a stretch and later came up with a hit. Does that mean, Sivaji Ganesan’s acting was not good or all the movies were regular commercial masala movies? No they would have missed out on certain elements which made the audience reject those movies.

We are people who make movies like Gemini, Pokkiri hits and out rightly reject movies such as Anbe Sivam, Virumandi etc. Hence I would like to remind all the critics that a film’s success is not entirely dependant on an actor, director, screenplay, songs, music etc. It definitely depends on the way it is presented and I am sure that everybody would have lived an instance where we have wondered at how a movie without a great story line, interesting script, star cast and which is not in our personal liking has managed to pull off and become a HIT.

I am very sure that Vijay being Vijay himself and with over 15 years of filmdom experience knows this and I am 100 % sure that he is definitely going to be back with a Massive Super Duper hit which will definitely break all office records with Vijay being his normal self without different getup, different screenplay and more so importantly without the so called intellectual, trendsetting and path breaking DIRECTOR but with a person with good presentation skills

Shankar to remake 3 Idiots in Telugu and Tamil

Television news channels in Andhra are saying that the number one director in South India, Shankar is going to remake Aamir Khan ’s mega blockbuster 3 Idiots in Telugu and Tamil. It will be Shankar’s next film after his magnum opus Endhiran

The producers are going to be Gemini Film Circuit, past masters at making remakes from Hindi to south Indian languages.The buzz is that both versions will have top leading men, and the names making the rounds are Mahesh Babu and Vijay to do the role made memorable by Aamir Khan in the original.

But what has caught the industry by surprise is that Shankar who always believed in making big budget straight subjects going for a remake.However Shankar himself in an interview to a Telugu news channel confirmed that he is doing the film.

The buzz in Kollywood is that Shankar has realized that after Endhiran, he can only do something bigger and by doing 3 Idiots remake as a bilingual his brand image is maintained. Added to that all his recent Tamil productions under his home banner has put him in the red..

Now that she is a part of two big projects in Kollywood, VIJAY starrer ‘Velayudham’ and Dhanush starrer ‘Maappillai’, Hansika Motwani is doing what many actresses from north India did in the past.

Circles close to her say she has been learning Tamil from a teacher and is very regular to the ‘tuition classes’. “Because, Hansika wants to make it big in Kollywood and she is aware that mastering the language is a must to achieve her mission,” they say.

The actress is extremely happy that Vijay showered praises on her at the launch of ‘Velayudham’ in Chennai a couple of days ago. “The actor likened her to Kushboo.This has made Hansika thrilled and excited,” sources say.

Besides offers from Kollywood and Tollywood, Hansika has been roped into enact the role Madhuri Dixit played in the 1990s blockbuster ‘Jamai Raja’. “It is a privilege to repeat the role that was beautifully played by Madhuri, one of my all time favourite actresses,” she says..

3-Idiots’ and Director Shankar

Ever since the Hindi film ‘3 Idiots’ hit the screens last December and become attained a cult status there has been news pouring in from all quarters about its remakes in south Indian languages. There have been enough permutations and combinations worked out by all as to who would play the three idiots – Aamir Khan, Madhavan and Sharman Joshi in the southern versions.

First it was said Vikram will do the Aamir Khan and Madhavan will play the same in Tamil. Then Vijay’s name cropped up to it soon began to take serious proportions. Jeevan and Silambarasan were also discussed to take up a character and that will begin a new era in multi starrers in Tamil. Then suddenly Suriya’s name was in media saying even he has shown interest in the film.

The hype was not only there for Tamil. Even Tollywood was abuzz with its own remake of ‘3 Idiots’. First it was mentioned that Pawan Kalyan may enact Aamir Khan’s role in Telugu. Now the latest buzz is Mahesh Babu has been almost finalized in Telugu. In Tamil Vijay was there in almost all casting contemplations and now it is almost certain Vijay will be Aamir Khan in Tamil.

But the biggest deal was who will direct the remakes? Again there were a host of names tossed up including Saran and K S Ravikumar. But now suddenly there are news seriously reporting that Shankar will direct the versions in both Kollywood and Tollywood.

Shankar who has just completed the most expensive Indian film ‘Endhiran’ is now busy working on the release. With some of the biggest names in Indian media like Rajinikanth, Kalanidhi Maran and Aishwarya Rai – ‘Endhiran’ will stay as the biggest Tamil film ever for some time to come. Having directed the biggest ever south Indian movie will Shankar opt to direct a remake as his next?

Some reports say director Shankar has even confirmed the news to a television channel in Andhra Pradesh. Gemini Film Circuit which has the remake rights hasn’t confirmed the news.

Its official as Lingusamy reasserts his own statement putting an end to buzzes rounding upon air about his project with Vijay. Following the grand success of ‘Paiyaa’, Lingusamy will now direct Vijay in a big budget movie directed by Dayanidhi Azhagiri of Cloud Nine Productions.

It is a coup, if Kollywood sources are right. In a dramatic turn of events, Vijay, who started work on his new film, Velayudham, recently, will be replacing Simbhu in ace filmmaker Lingusamy ’s next film, which is an action-packed, police story.Earlier, he even went to the extent of making an official announcement that Simbhu was the hero of his next film and that Dayanidhi Alagiri ’s Cloud Nine would produce the movie.

Now the latest news to hit the movie circuit is that Dayanidhi was peeved at Simbhu ’s unprofessionalism in signing another film Vaanam without informing either the producer or the director.

Dayanidhi, so the story goes, reacted instantly. Aware that Lingusamy had narrated a script to Vijay on an earlier occasion, he quickly approached the actor and asked for his call sheet.Now one hears that the first round of discussions are over and the Vettaikaran star will soon be signed on.

Since Lingusamy had announced that he wanted to cast Kajal Agarwal as his next film ’s heroine, chances of her pairing with Vijay are quite high. And Kajal is not new to the production house, as she has already completed Naan Mahan Alla with them.

Madhavan, a prime contender for the role of the hero ’s brother, is still Lingusamy’s first choice. When Lingusamy was contacted by this newspaper, he admitted that Simbhu is not a part of his project. But he refused to divulge any more. “ Yes, Simbhu is not my next film’s hero. It’s a cop story and talks are on with another top Kollywood actor. Hopefully, everything should be finalised in a couple of weeks. ”

When asked whether Maddy was still in the project, Lingusamy said that he was holding discussions with the actor, who is currently shooting in foreign locales for K.S. Ravikumar’s film.

A sudden announcement from Simbu that he would do ‘Vaanam’ and his revamping of the long pending ‘Podaa Podi’ has given raise to a question- Will he act in Lingusamy’s forthcoming project?

If sources are to be believed, the actor may not be a part of the ‘Paiyaa’ director’s next film, and instead of him, Vijay will play the protagonist of the action-paced venture.

“Since Vijay is on the verge of completing ‘Kaaval Kadhal’ and his other movie ‘Velayudham’ which went to floors a few days ago will be completed in one ago, he has agreed to do Lingusamy’s film,” sources say.

The venture will be produced by Dhayanidhi Alagiri’s Cloud Nine Movies, it is said. The production company run by Dhayanidhi has acquired and released ‘Paiyaa’, which recently completed 100 days, it may be recalled.

‘This film will be shot at the Hollywood standard and an unusual film for Vijay indeed’ says Lingusamy, who has now signed Vijay for one of his film. This is an official confirmation from the sources of Cloud Nine Productions.

Followed by the grand success of ‘Paiyaa’, Lingusamy was supposed to direct Silambarasan in an untitled film that was supposed to produce by Lingusamy’s younger brother Subash Chandra Bose under the banner of Tirupathi Brothers. On the spur of moment, Silambarasan was reported to have walked out of the project.

Now, it has been confirmed that Dayanidhi Azhagiri of Cloud Nine Productions will produce this film at a big budget. Cloud Nine is now involved in the Production of Ajith Kumar starrer ‘Mangaatha’, ‘Thoonga Nagaram’ and has acquired the rights of Karthi starrer ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’.

Vikram Kumar made his debut with Silambarasan-Trisha starrer ‘Alai’ that threw him into pits and it really took 5 years to make his comeback with a big blockbuster ‘Yaavarum Nalam’. Sooner, the filmmaker signed Vikram for his sci-fi thriller titled ’24’ that was supposed to be produced by Mohan Natarajan. Off the late, the project was dropped due to difference of opinions between both actor and director.

And now that Vikram Kumar has signed Vijay for his next film to be produced by Kalaipuli S Dhanu, the rumors started on airs that Vikram Kumar has replaced Vikram by Vijay in ‘24’. Nonetheless, the director has confirmed that the script he has done for Vijay is completely different from Vikram’s ‘24’.

Vikram Kumar is also planning to make a sequel to ‘Yaavarum Nalam’ and that will start rolling from January 2011 onwards.

Vijay’s upcoming film ‘Velayudham’ scheduled for a back-to-back shooting of 180days has surprised the town.

Actor Vijay usually prefers a quickie as almost his previous films have been churned out within short span of time. But on contrastive grounds, his upcoming film ‘Velayudham’ will be shot for 180 days and it’s spinning more sensations now.

Produced by Aascar Ravichandran, the film took off grandiosely amongst hundreds and thousands of fans during last week … Reports are that the film will be crafted so carefully that Jayam Raja wants ‘Velayudham’ to be his best while for Vijay – another ‘Ghilli’.

Ever since the Hindi film ‘3 Idiots’ hit the screens last December and become attained a cult status there has been news pouring in from all quarters about its remakes in south Indian languages. There have been enough permutations and combinations worked out by all as to who would play the three idiots – Aamir Khan, Madhavan and Sharman Joshi in the southern versions.

First it was said Vikram will do the Aamir Khan and Madhavan will play the same in Tamil. Then Vijay’s name cropped up to it soon began to take serious proportions. Jeevan and Silambarasan were also discussed to take up a character and that will begin a new era in multi starrers in Tamil. Then suddenly Suriya’s name was in media saying even he has shown interest in the film.

The hype was not only there for Tamil. Even Tollywood was abuzz with its own remake of ‘3 Idiots’. First it was mentioned that Pawan Kalyan may enact Aamir Khan’s role in Telugu. Now the latest buzz is Mahesh Babu has been almost finalized in Telugu. In Tamil Vijay was there in almost all casting contemplations and now it is almost certain Vijay will be Aamir Khan in Tamil.

But the biggest deal was who will direct the remakes? Again there were a host of names tossed up including Saran and K S Ravikumar. But now suddenly there are news seriously reporting that Shankar will direct the versions in both Kollywood and Tollywood.

Shankar who has just completed the most expensive Indian film ‘Endhiran’ is now busy working on the release. With some of the biggest names in Indian media like Rajinikanth, Kalanidhi Maran and Aishwarya Rai – ‘Endhiran’ will stay as the biggest Tamil film ever for some time to come. Having directed the biggest ever south Indian movie will Shankar opt to direct a remake as his next?

Some reports say director Shankar has even confirmed the news to a television channel in Andhra Pradesh. Gemini Film Circuit which has the remake rights hasn’t confirmed the news.

Last time we saw Kalainyar Karunanidhi and Vijay together was for the music release of ‘Vamsam’ and now they’ll reappear together for yet another occasion.
They will unveil the audio of ‘Kanimozhi’ on day after tomorrow at Anna Arivalayam. The film is directed by debutant Sripathy Rangaswamy with actress Sona of Uniq Productions and T. Siva of Amma Creations as producers. Sathish Chakravarthy, who has made his debut with the unreleased film ‘Leelai’ scores music. Velayudham shoot is rocking in Prasad Studios, Chennai while the actor’s Untitled project with Siddique is into post- pro now b4 they kick-start next schedule from Aug-1st… Currently VELAYUDHAM crew is canning a set-song with dreamy designs starring Vijay under Brindha’s choregraphy… Actually Brindha is the choreographer for this song’s visuals but dance movements are composed by Sandy of Manada Mayilada fame.. Couldn’t head the song’s lyrics since they wr shooting BGM part dance bit, but beats wr really amazing & peppy to keep u tapping ur feet… Vijay had been doing Sandy’s difficult steps with an ease after few through rehearsals..

he would do
‘Vaanam’ and his revamping of
the long pending ‘Podaa Podi’ has
given
raise to a question- Will he act in
Lingusamy’s forthcoming
project?
If sources are to be believed, the
actor may not be
a part of the ‘Paiyaa’ director’s
next film, and instead of him,
Vijay
will play the protagonist of the
action-paced venture.
“Since Vijay is on the verge of
completing ‘Kaaval
Kadhal’ and his other movie
‘Velayudham’ which went to
floors a few
days ago will be completed in one
ago, he has agreed to do
Lingusamy’s
film,” sources say.
The venture will be produced by
Dhayanidhi Alagiri’s
Cloud Nine Movies, it is said. The
production company run by
Dhayanidhi
has acquired and released
‘ Paiyaa’, which recently
completed 100 days,

Simbu declines as Vijay picks up the Lingusamy film:

Lingusamy is the director that any actor wants to team up with as he can make box office blockbusters with almost no story and a good screenplay. His latest ‘Paiyaa’ was, in fact, a blockbuster and made ‘Karthi’ a superhero.

Lingusamy may also give enormous freedom for actors to act in his films unlike some of the class directors who restrict a hero to the character. Simbu was about to do Lingusamy’s next film for which he went to Mauritius and other foreign locations to complete the script.

But then, Simbu has been involved in two films ‘Vaanam’ and ‘Poda Podi’. This has made it uncertain for Simbu to continue the role in Lingusamy’s film. Meanwhile, Vijay made a timely attempt to jump in and grab the role in this Lingusamy’s ‘high-flying’ action film.

Vijay has almost completed ‘Kaaval Kadhal’ and is all set to do ‘Velayudham’ which will not take too long for him to complete as it is done in one schedule for Vijay. Since, Vijay has been signing films back to back to keep himself busy, he has readily agreed to do the Lingusamy flick.

Dhayanithi Alagiri will be producing this Vijay starrer for Cloud Nine Movies as earlier they purchased the release rights of ‘Paiyaa’ whose box office kept ticking for more than 100 days. Dhayanithi Alagiri’s Cloud Nine Movies and Lingusamy have come together again for another film which will be a star studded action film.
