It all began as everyone showed their keen interest over the remake of ‘3 Idiots’. Director Shankar expressed this wish during a film event and so was Vijay. Literally, the producers in Gemini Productions were lucky enough to get themselves for the safest bet of signing the best team in K-town.

But soon as Madhavan and Silambarasan have walked out of the project, Shankar has now started knocking his brains for best replacements. The latest status is about actress Ileana signing the female lead character in both the versions with Vijay and Mahesh Babu.

As of now, Harris Jayaraj and cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa have been confirmed.

Kaaval Kaadhal to undergo title change?

Reportedly Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s Kaaval Kaadhal is almost ready and will grace theatres during Diwali. Meanwhile, the actor, director and producer are looking for an appealing title. They aren’t impressed with the present title Kaaval Kaadhal and have decided to change it again. Interestingly, the film’s title was changed from Kaavalkaran to Kaaval Kaadhal recently.

The crew will soon finalize the film’s title prior to the audio launch slated to be held in September. Kaaval Kaadhal is the remake of Malayalam hit Bodyguard starring Dileep and Nayantara. Siddique (of Friends fame), who directed the original, is also directing the Tamil version. Bodyguard has a plot with plenty of comedy and action; it also brings back Asin to Kollywood after a gap.

According to sources, director Siddique has made certain changes from the original script in accordance to the tastes of Tamil audiences.

Jos Alukkas to expand

Corporate Reporter CHENNAI: Jos Alukkas, one of the largest organised player of jewellery retailing in the south, plans to invest Rs. 550 crore in the next two years by expanding its presence. Addressing presspersons here, Paul Alukkas, MD (Gold and Diamonds), John Alukka (MD-Marketing), and Varghese Alukkas, MD (Finance, officials), said the company was planning to invest Rs. 250 crore and would have six showrooms in 2010-11. In 2011-12, another Rs. 300 crore would be invested and it would have 31 showrooms by this time across the south. At present, it has 19 large format retail stores in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The required resources for expansion would be met from bank borrowing and internal accruals. The company also unveiled its new brand identity and announced actor Vijay as its brand ambassador. The all new avatar had been designed to set the Jos Alukkas brand apart from the other entities sharing the same name.

Kaaval Kaadhal Update !

The latest update is that, the movie is right now being shot in various locales in Chennai like Ecr,Ennore..etc and the shoot for this movie will go on till October. And in the mean while, Vijay would be shooting for his 52nd movie, Velayudham too. The shooting of Vijay’s 51st movie will get over by October and the movie is being planned to be released for Diwali.

So will this Diwali be Vijay’s day..? Lets keep our fingers crossed and wait for more updates regarding the same.
