3 IDIOTS TAMIL REMAKE CONFIRMED

Director Raju Hirani, who directed the highest grosser of the year, 3 Idiots has confirmed that the film is in the process of being remade in Tamil and Telugu. The director, however, said that he is not aware as to who would don the lead roles as the star cast is yet to be decided.

To a question on whether he is planning a sequel to 3 Idiots, the director said that he has no idea about it till now but is working on a sequel for his another hit film Munnabhai MBBS.

‘3 Idiots’ Tamil remake confirmed

At a time when a lot of buzzes are doing rounds about the Tamil remake of ‘3 Idiots’, director of the Bollywood blockbuster Raju Hirani has confirmed that the film is being remade in south Indian languages

Speaking at the DVD launch of the Aamir Khan starrer in Mumbai, the filmmaker said, “The movie will be soon made in Tamil and Telugu. But I don’t know who will play the lead there.”

“I think they (producers and director of the Tamil version) are currently in the process of casting,” Hirani said and added that he has no plans to make a sequel to ‘3 Idiots’. “I am not with that idea,” he said.

There were reports that a popular production house has acquired the remake rights of ‘3 Idiots’ and Shankar will direct both the Tamil and Telugu versions. “While Vijay will replace Aamir Khan in Tamil, Mahesh Babu will play the role in Telugu,” reports said.

’3 Idiots’ being remade in Tamil, Telugu: Raju Hirani share

Director Raju Hirani has revealed that his “3 Idiots”, which created history by becoming the all-time highest grosser, is getting remade in Tamil and Telugu.
“The film is being remade in Tamil and Telugu. I don’t have any idea on who are playing the lead there. I think they are in the process of casting,” said Raju at the DVD launch of the film here.

Raju maintained he is not planning any sequel of “3 Idiots”.

“I am not thinking of any sequel to ’3 Idiots’, unless I hit upon any great idea which could be a sequel, but nothing as of now,” Raju reports.

Raju is getting ready with the third instalment of “Munnabhai…”

“I am of course working on the script of ‘Munnabhai…’, I am also working on another script. Can’t say which would come first,” said Raju.

Hansika, the bubbly as well as seemed to be looking as lucky actress as she has grabbed a chance to work with three top heroes in Tamil in succession. She is working with Jayam Ravi in ‘Ich’, Dhanush in ‘Mappillai’ and as heroine of Vijay in ‘Velayudham’. On the other hand she is eagerly waiting for the release of her films soon.

When she was asked about her three heroes whom she is acting with, the actress says with smile “Ravi is such a wonderful co-artiste and a good friend of mine. There was so much of fun on the ‘Ich’ shooting sets and the experience was unforgettable”.

‘3 Idiots’ to be remade in Tamil and Telugu

News Desk: Breaking News! Aamir Khan’s starrer an all-time highest grosser and successful film ’3 Idiots’ is all set to be remade soon in Tamil and Telugu. Director Raju Hirani confirmed that his movie ’3 Idiots’ will come up in south Indian languages.

On the occasion of the DVD launch of the film in Mumbai, Raju revealed that his most successful movie ’3 Idiots’ is going to be shown in Tamil and Telugu languages to popularize the theme of the movie. However, it is not confirmed who will play the lead role in south versions.

Both the Tamil and Telugu versions of the movie will be directed by Shankar. Bollywood buzz says that Vijay and Mahesh Babu will play the lead roles in Tamil and Telugu version respectively.

Earlier, there were reports that pretty lass Tamannaah will play the lead role in the Tamil remake of Bollywood blockbuster 3 Idiots. The Tamil version, which will have Vijay in the lead, is directed by Shankar. However, Tamannaah has recently denied the reports. “No, I haven’t been offered 3 Idiots,” Tamannaah said.

Shankar sir knew me right from my Eeram days. He was very happy with my work for Eeram. But what I think must have made him sign me up for 3 Idiots is my work for VTV. It had that gloss that his movies are famous for. Initially, I was apprehensive to take on the project because of my commitment to Gautham sir. At a time when he could have signed up any top cinematographer, he chose to give me a break, that too trusting the words of one of his associates. So, I really did not want to upset him or his film in anyway. But he understood my position and magnanimously let me work for 3 Idiots. What makes me really happy about this project is the fact that it will be over in six to eight months as the film is being planned as a summer release. The shoot will most probably begin by late October or early November.

தன் தம்பி ஜெயம் ரவியை வைத்து ராஜா இயக்கிய 5 படங்களும் தமிழில் சூப்பர் ஹிட். இதுவரை ரீமேக் செய்வதில் ராஜா ராஜாதான் என நிரூபித்து வந்தார். இப்போது ராஜாவின் அடுத்த ரீமேக் விஜய் நடிக்கும் வேலாயுதம். வேலாயுதம் தெலுங்கு படமான ‘ஆசாத்’ படத்தின் ரீமேக். பத்து ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு நாகர்ஜூன், சௌந்தர்யா, ஷில்பா ஷெட்டி ஆகியோர் நடித்து தெலுங்கில் ஹிட்டான படம் ‘ஆசாத்’.

விஜய்யின் முந்தையப் படங்களில் இருந்து முற்றிலும் மாறுபட்ட ஒரு படமாக ‘வேலாயுதம்’ அமையும் என்று திரைவட்டாரத் தகவல்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன. இதை உறுதிப்படுத்தும் விதமாக வேலாயுதம் படத்தின் சிறப்பான சில விஷயங்களை வெளிச்சப்படுத்தினார் இயக்குனர் ராஜா.

விஜய்-ஜெனிலியா நடிப்பில் வேகமாக வளர்ந்து வருகிறது வேலாயுதம். படத்தின் முதல் கட்டப் படப்பிடிப்பு ஆந்திராவின் கோல்கொண்டாவில் எடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதன் அடுத்தக் கட்டப் படப்பிடிப்புக்கான இடத்தினையும் ஆந்திராவிலேயே தேடிவருகிறார்கள்.

‘ஆசாத்’ விஜய்க்கான படமாக உருவானது எப்படி?

2 வருசத்துக்கு முன்பே ஆசாத் படத்தின் கதையை விஜய்யிடம் சொன்னேன். அதற்கு அவர், “கதை ஓ.கே. ஆனால் இப்போ உள்ள ட்ரெண்டுக்கு ஏற்ற மாதிரி இருந்தா படம் பண்ணலாம்” என்றார்.

ஆசாத் கதை மட்டுமே எடுத்துக் கொண்டு விஜய்க்கு ஏற்றாற் போல் வேலாயுதம் திரைக்கதையை உருவாக்கினேன். இதை ரீமேக் என்றும் சொல்ல முடியாது.ரொம்ப வருஷத்துக்கு முன்பு வெளிவந்த படம் என்பதால் அதை அப்படியே ரிமேக் செய்ய முடியாது. இந்த படத்தின் திரைக்கதையை உருவாக்க 4 மாதங்கள் எடுத்துக் கொண்டேன். இதுவரை வந்த விஜய் படங்களிலிருந்து முற்றிலும் மாறுபட்ட படமா இது இருக்கும்.

விஜய்யின் முந்தைய 5 படங்களும் ரசிகர்கள் எதிர்பார்த்த அளவுக்கு இல்லை என்ற நிலையில், தற்போது இந்தப் படம் அந்த எதிர்பார்ப்பை நிறைவேற்றுமா?

ரசிகர்களின் எதிர்பார்ப்பை நிறைவேற்றி, இந்தப் படத்தை ஹிட்டாக்க வேண்டிய பொறுப்பு எனக்கு தரப்பட்டுள்ளதாக நான் உணர்கிறேன். அந்த வகையில் நிச்சயம் வேலாயுதம் ஹிட் படமா அமையும் என்ற நம்பிக்கை இருக்கு.

3 Idiots remake budgets to touch 90 crore?

There are people in the South Indian film circuit who say that if money has to be spent for a film, no other director is as good as Shankar. Such is the popularity of Shankar that producers have spent around Rs. 60 crore for Sivaji’ and about Rs. 190 crore for ‘Robo’.

Both of these films being Rajnikanth’s films, the returns take care of themselves. However we hear that Shankar is going to spend some huge money again. This time there won’t be Rajnikanth. Presently Shanker is planning the remake of ‘3 – Idiots’ in both Tamil and Telugu. It is expectedt that the producers are expecting the film budget would touch around 90-92 crore.

The rights of the Hindi Original for Telugu and Tamil seemed to have cost a bomb to producers of the film Gemini Films. However, with stars like Mahesh Babu in Telugu and Vijay in Tamil, it is expected that Shankar knows what he is up to.

The shooting for the 3-Idiots remake expected to start in December.

Vijay replacing Vikram in ‘24’???

Apart from ‘Kaavalan’, ‘Velayudham’ and ‘3 Idiots’ remake, Vijay has signed another project with director Vikram Kumar of ‘Yaavarum Nalam’ fame. Although, the project hasn’t been officially confirmed, the filmmaker has started working on his script and will soon complete it.
According to sources, it has been revealed that Vikram Kumar is reworking on the script ‘24’ that was meant for Vikram. It is worth mentioning that both Vikram and Vikram Kumar were supposed to work on this sci-fi thriller titled ‘24’ and the project was dropped due to creative difference of opinions.
Clearing off such rumors, the closer associates of Vikram Kumar have mentioned that they are not reworking on ‘24’ for Vijay and its completely new project.
This untitled film will be produced by A.M. Rathnam of Sri Surya Movies and will commence by end of this year.

The sequence was recently shot at VIT College in Vellore. According to the story, Asin and her friends feel embarrassed as Vijay keeps following her as bodyguard throughout the campus. She purposely gets him involved with group of students consuming narcotic drugs.

The film’s shooting is 95% completed and is expected to have audio launch during last week of September.

saying that no one had
approached her so far to play
the female protagonist in the
Tamil remake of Bollywood
blockbuster ‘3 Idiots’, which
would be directed by Shankar.
“No, the reports are not true. I
have not been offered the role
so far, ” the actress says, adding:
“The Hindi original is a huge hit
and I am hopeful that the Tamil

Interestingly, if the role is offered

Director Raju Hirani, who directed the highest grosser of the year, 3 Idiots has confirmed that the film is in the process of being remade in Tamil and Telugu. The director, however, said that he is not aware as to who would don the lead roles as the star cast is yet to be decided.
To a question on whether he is planning a sequel to 3 Idiots, the director said that he has no idea about it till now but is working on a sequel for his another hit film Munnabhai MBBS.

VIJAY’S NEXT TITLED RASCAL?

There are strong rumors in Kollywood that Vijay’s next film has been titled Rascal. Incidentally, this film is the remake of the Hindi blockbuster 3 Idiots. Unconfirmed reports say that the film will be titled Rascal and Shankar will wield the megaphone for it. Sources also say that the shooting of Rascal will begin in November.
